"Paws" and "Hearts" Fit Together
Intake/Check In: This is the time we assess the animal: checking for broken bones, puncture wounds, cuts and scratches. Assess for medications and pain management.
Rehabilitation: The time that it takes to recover from injuries. They are learning to be wild. This time is preparing them to be released onto their journey.
Release: This is the day that we count down to. The day that we are grateful for. We strive for this day and wish all critters grow on their journey.
Due to no fault, they can not be released back into the wild due to injuries and mental challenges (brain trauma or nerve injury).
Emma came to the rescue as a baby. She was brought up for release. She was released on our property. (Soft release) Emma made it back to the house (5.5 acres away); she had a broken (healed wrong) front leg. So she will live her life with All Paws.
Popples found All Paws. She was in our yard, and when my son went near her, she didn't run. So he noticed the gashes and brought her to me. Notice she was blind (she wasn't born that way). Thinking injuries are what have caused her blindness. So she will live her life at All Paws.
Wakko came to us with his other brothers, Yakko and Doug, as babies. Wakko lost his tail, and without his tail, he doesn't have a good balance. His brothers were released, but Wakko will live his life here at All Paws.
Eddie came to All Paws with no fault of his own. The first rehabber did not follow guidelines, so Eddie formed MBD, and she baby (tamed) him. The second rehabber pulled him out of MBD and tried to "wild" him up. All Paws is his forever home, and he will continue his journey (educational) with All Paws.
Crash came to live his life at All Paws due to a handicap that he received at birth. We have been working therapy with him and wilding him up. So fingers crossed, we will be able to release him when the weather is good.
